Marija Cvetkovic

She was born in 1978 in Niš. She graduated from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts “Krastyo Sarafov” in Sofia (Bulgaria), in the puppet department under Professor Bojana Lungova. She completed her secondary music education at the “Dr. Vojislav Vučković” Music School in Niš. Since 2001, she has been a permanent member of the Puppet Theatre.

Her professional work includes collaborations with directors such as Atanas Ilkov, Todor Valov, Darin Petkov, Živomir Joković, Milorad Berić, Dragoslav Todorović, Kokan Mladenović, Viktor Klimchuk, and Rumen Rachev. At the Puppet Theatre, she performs in nearly all the productions on the theatre’s repertoire.

She has received awards for Best Lead Actress in the play “Ivica and Marica” at the 34th Meeting of Professional Puppet Theatres in Novi Sad in 2001, and the “Janko Vrbnjak” Award for Best Animation at the 51st Meeting of Professional Puppet Theatres of Serbia in Kragujevac in 2021 for her roles as Gavranica and Little Robber in “The Snow Queen,” as well as several collective awards.
